Mark Kanter graduated from the University of Southern California in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Real Estate Finance. After graduation, Mark began his real estate career as an investment real estate broker with Marcus & Millichap, specializing in the sale of multi-family and commercial real estate.
In 1992, as the Southern California real estate market was in the beginning of a recession, Mark left Marcus and Millichap and started Assessment Appeals Group (AAG), a property tax consulting firm specializing in representing property owners in contesting unfair property tax assessments. AAG was responsible for representing thousands of property owners in the recovery of tens of millions of dollars in overpaid property tax bills. In 1997, Mark was a founding partner of Commercial Realty Consultants, Inc. CRC is a commercial real estate finance firm which specializes in financing commercial properties across the U.S. As recently as 2007, CRC arranged financing in excess of $1.1 billion. CRC acts in the capacity of a mortgage broker and banker for several correspondent relationships. Mark has been instrumental in forging close relationships with many lenders, from regional banks to institutional lenders. In addition to his background in various areas within the real estate field, Mark has been an active real estate investor since 1993, with real estate assets including apartments, medical office and retail properties in California, Arizona, Washington and Texas. Mark is also President of MBK Management, Inc. which manages his apartment portfolio throughout Los Angeles County. |
