Direct Assessments Fees appear on your
property tax bill for public services. These fees may include stormwater,
flood control, park district, trauma/emergency and other miscellaneous
fees. Direct Assessments are levied on the property tax bill by the tax
collector on behalf of the local levying agency or district.
Most Direct
Assessment fees are not based on property value. Appealing these fees
will in no way impact your property value. This service is entirely
seperate from your property tax assessment appeal. Direct Assessment fees
are typically based on the size and use of the parcel(s). Assessment
Appeal Advisors will perform an initial audit on your property(s) to determine
if your property qualifies for a refund or adjustment. We will go back up
to four years from the current tax year to get you the maximum refund or
adjustment available.
